Paddock Postcard from Shanghai 07 Oct 2007
The fourth Chinese Grand Prix drew a rare type of celebrity visitor - one with not only a love of Formula One, but also an ambition to race. Musician Maxi Jazz was in the paddock as his band Faithless completed its world tour.
The band played the Yue Festival in Shanghais ZhongShan Park on Friday. Jazz is a big fan of F1, and plans to compete in the Ferrari Challenge next year.
Jurgen Huppert, the former CEO of Mercedes-Benz, was another familiar face, appositely at McLaren.
The first Porsche Carrera Asia Cup support race resulted in a narrow victory for Briton Tim Sugden (GruppeM Racing) over Hong Kongs Darryl OYoung (LKM Team Jebsen), who set fastest lap.
