BMW Sauber to take Pit Lane Park to Las Vegas
|
No sooner had BMW Saubers Pit Lane Park returned from impressing the crowds in Shanghai earlier this month, then plans were afoot to send it on its travels again - this time to Las Vegas. The German-Swiss team's popular attraction will be in the American city from January 7-10, 2008 as part of the Consumer Electronics Show.
The Pit Lane Park, which has also made appearances in Kuala Lumpur, Barcelona, Rome, Silverstone and Warsaw this season, boasts 14 replica garages and a 90-metre track.
During the Las Vegas event, a BMW Sauber Formula One car and a smaller Formula BMW car will take turns to power down the track. The attraction will be set up on the Gold Lot car park, on the corner of Paradise Road and Convention Center Drive.
Las Vegas last hosted a Grand Prix back in 1982. The race was won by Michele Alboreto in a Ford-powered Tyrrell.
