McLaren have said there are currently no plans for a launch presentation of their 2008 machine, the MP4-23. Instead the team will provide the media with photographs and further details about the car when it runs for the first time next month.

The MP4-23, to be raced by Lewis Hamilton and newly-confirmed team mate Heikki Kovalainen, is scheduled to commence its on-track development programme at an exclusive test at the Jerez circuit in Spain during the second week of January.

Its predecessor, the MP4-22, was unveiled in spectacular fashion ahead of the 2007 season, in a ceremony that included a spectacular night-time demonstration run on the streets of Valencia, also in Spain.
