New dual title sponsor for Spyker
|
Spyker, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and Aldar, Abu Dhabis leading integrated property development company, announced a major new long-term title partnership in Melbourne on Thursday.
It will see the Dutch team re-branded as the Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team for the next three seasons. Both the Etihad Airways and Aldar logos will have primary branding on the teams cars and driver overalls from this weekends Australian Grand Prix onwards.
This partnership is the start of a new era for the team, commented Colin Kolles, Spykers team principal. We are proud to be associated with Etihad and Aldar, two of Abu Dhabis major brands that have both shown a determination and desire to succeed in their own industry sectors. This drive matches Spykers philosophy and brand values perfectly and I hope we will both continue to progress together for many years to achieve our own respective goals.
Michiel Mol, Spykers Formula One director, added, This is another stepping stone towards our goal of getting to the forefront of Formula One. When we came into the sport just six months ago, we emphatically stated we wanted to provide an attractive package to draw commercial partners to the team. We have now shown we can deliver on our statements.
Spyker start their first full campaign of Formula One racing this weekend, having taken over the team from former owners Midland late last season.
