Fine start for Raikkonen at Ferrari 16 Mar 2007
Kimi Raikkonen had the dubious honour of becoming the first driver to be fined in 2007, after exceeding the pit-lane speed limit in Friday morning’s opening practice session in Melbourne.
Raikkonen, starting his first Grand Prix meeting since his switch from McLaren to Ferrari, was relieved of €200 by the stewards after he was clocked at 61.7 km/h in his F2007. The limit is 60 km/h.
Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella was later fined €3,600 when he took his R27 up to 78.2 km/h.
