Renault team set to enter Second Life 23 Apr 2007
Renault announced on Monday they are to join virtual 3D-world Second Life. It will make them the first Formula One team to participate in the online community, which boasts 5.6 million accounts worldwide.
The French squad hope their presence will allow Second Life participants to go behind-the-scenes to find out more about the workings of a Formula One team. Users will also be given the opportunity to interact with the team itself.
The experience is designed to take them closer to the dedication, technological excellence and teamwork required to achieve Formula One success, explained Renault. The aim is to offer a unique experience that will put the public in contact with the team and its personnel. Visitors will be nothing less than virtual team members!
Second Lifes virtual land mass is approximately five times the size of Manhattan and its members, known as residents, hail from over 100 countries.
