Spyker to pass on test extension 02 May 2007
Spyker have confirmed they will not be extending their test session in Barcelona, despite the majority of teams staying an extra day to make up for time lost to Tuesdays poor weather. Instead, Spyker will head back to their Silverstone base to prepare for next weekends Spanish Grand Prix.
It has been a somewhat frustrating week in Spain for the Dutch team. Test driver Adrian Valles crashed the car heavily on Monday, demolishing its left-hand side. The Spyker mechanics put in 225 man-hours to repair it for Tuesday afternoons session, only for heavy rain to limit Adrian Sutil to 11 laps.
Sutils team mate, Christijan Albers, will take over for Spykers final session at the Circuit de Catalunya on Wednesday, when the forecast is for much-improved weather conditions. Most other teams will continue testing on Thursday.
