The Renault Formula One team are to put on a demonstration run in Rotterdam in August as part of the city’s annual ‘Bavaria City Racing’ show. Renault’s attendance has been arranged by their Dutch title sponsors ING, who will also be sponsoring a motorsport exhibition at the event.

"This is a unique opportunity for the Netherlands and Rotterdam to see the world champions in action,” said Wilbert Lek, ING Bank director in Rotterdam. “I can already see the cars racing over the Willemsbrug (bridge)."

It will be the third time Rotterdam has hosted the motorsport spectacular, which allows Dutch fans to get up close to Formula One cars and a host of other international racing machinery. Among last year’s star turns were local hero Christijan Albers and then Midland team mate Tiago Monteiro.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, August 19 and is expected to attract half a million visitors.
