No sooner had Renault’s Formula One roadshow returned from wowing the crowds in Poland, then plans were afoot to send it on its travels again - this time to South Africa. The French team will be in Johannesburg on July 28-29 for their second city-centre demonstration in as many months.

Renault tester Nelson Piquet Jr and race driver Giancarlo Fisichella will both be attendance for the run, which will be held on a specially-devised circuit around the streets of Sandton, the city’s commercial district.

“I am very excited about this next Roadshow,” explained Fisichella. “I have never been to South Africa, but I have heard a lot about the country, and people have told me what an extraordinary place it is: I can't wait to get there! Along with our unique Roadshow team, we will be looking to put on a really spectacular show for the public in Johannesburg - and I hope to meet plenty of them there!”

South Africa last hosted a Grand Prix back in 1993 at the Kyalami circuit. Alain Prost won the race in a Renault-engined Williams.
