Bridgestone announce final 2007 tyre specifications
|
Bridgestone have confirmed the tyre compounds that will be available to all 11 teams at this seasons remaining races. The soft and medium specifications will be used at this weekends European round at the Nurburgring.
Last week's test at Spa provided the final pieces of information we needed before we could confirm our choices of Bridgestone Potenza compound for the remainder of the season, said Kees van de Grint, Bridgestone Motorsports head of track engineering operations.
It was good to return to Spa as we enjoyed the beautiful countryside and the wonderful location of the circuit, which is shaped by nature rather than design.
However, with Spa you must always be prepared for rain, and this test was no exception. We used the medium and soft compounds at this test and from the information we gained we are confident that these are the correct choices for the race. The Spa weather also meant we used the wet and extreme wet Bridgestones, and I wouldn't be surprised if these were also used over the Grand Prix weekend there.
At each event, the softer of the two tyre specifications will continue to be signified by a white line in the base of the second from inside groove.
