Sebastien Buemi tests for Red Bull in Jerez
Sebastien Buemi made his first Formula One test outing for Red Bull on Tuesday morning at the Spanish circuit of Jerez. Buemi, who is 18 years-old, is a member of Red Bulls junior driver team.
The young Swiss driver, who is also competing in this years Formula 3 Euroseries, stood in for injured Red Bull tester Michael Ammermueller at last weekends GP2 race at the Nurburgring. Ammermueller, who fractured his hand during a collision at the GP2 season-opener in Bahrain in April, had been told by doctors to rest.
Buemi is currently lying second in the F3 Euroseries championship, five points behind Romain Grosjean. In 2006 he competed in Formula 3, Formula Renault and the Eurocup, while in 2005 he raced in the Formula BMW series, finishing the season in second after winning seven events.
