Ferrari and Toro Rosso wrap up Mugello test 27 Jul 2007
Whilst their colleagues in Spain were busy completing their scheduled programmes at Jerez on Thursday, Ferrari and Toro Rosso concluded the final day of their session at the Italian track of Mugello. Felipe Massa took over driving duties in the F2007, replacing Ferrari tester Luca Badoer, while Scott Speed continued in the Toro Rosso cockpit.
Massa covered 68 laps over the course of the day, the quickest in a time of 1m 20.194s. The Brazilian brought to an end the Italian teams programme of mechanical and aerodynamic testing.
Speed, struggling with severe lower back pain for most of the day, was forced to jump out of his cockpit after every run so the team could apply ice packs to his sore back. The American, however, still managed to complete 74 laps, the quickest in 1m 23.590s.
With next weekends Hungarian Grand Prix looming, the two teams plan to return to their respective factories to continue preparations.
