While most Formula One teams enjoy a well-earned rest before the Turkish Grand Prix, Spyker were hard at work at the UK's Santa Pod Raceway on Thursday. Malaysian tester Fairuz Fauzy was behind the wheel of the F8-VII, assisting the Dutch team with its aero development programme.

“It was great to be back in the F1 car,” commented Fauzy. “We concentrated on aero development and control systems and had a very productive day. Santa Pod is not really a complete track, but it's quite bumpy, fun and challenging to drive. We didn't have any problems and it was nice to be able to get some more mileage in a Formula One car. I'm looking forward to getting some more time later in the season.”

It was the Malaysian’s first time testing for Spyker since May's multi-team session at Paul Ricard. This season the 24 year-old has been competing in the World Series by Renault and enjoyed his best result at the last round at the Hungaroring where he came home in second.
