Formula One stars head to Rotterdam 17 Aug 2007
Rotterdam is gearing up to welcome members of the Formula One fraternity this weekend for the Bavaria City Racing event, which takes place in the Dutch city on Sunday. The Renault and Spyker teams both plan to make an appearance at the annual motorsport showcase, which is expected to attract up to half a million fans.
Race driver Heikki Kovalainen and tester Nelson Piquet will be in action for Renault, while Spykers Adrian Sutil will take to the streets in an F8-VII. Sutil will be joined by former team mate Christijan Albers, who will step back into the Spyker cockpit for a one-off appearance. Dutch national Albers took part in the event in 2006 for the Midland team.
Other attractions will include a Champ Car display, with former Red Bull racer Robert Doornbos at the wheel, and an official post-event party, which is set to feature a musical performance by ex-Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan and his band, The Robbers.
