After being frustrated by high winds and rain at Valencia on Wednesday, Thursday saw a far more fruitful session for BMW Sauber, as the team continued their exclusive test at the Spanish circuit.

It was Nick Heidfeld’s first day in the new F1.08 and the German completed 117 laps, despite some high winds returning in the afternoon. The team began testing changes in the mechanical and aero set-up to see and evaluate the reaction of the car, which they say responded as expected.

And in the older F1.07B, Estonian driver Marko Asmer enjoyed his second test with BMW Sauber. Following some seat adjustments to make him more comfortable, the reigning British Formula Three champion worked on set-up changes to make him feel more confident with the car, completing 76 laps as scheduled.

BMW Sauber will complete their first test with the F1.08 on Friday. Heidfeld will again be behind the wheel, while team mate Robert Kubica takes over the F1.07B.
