It's been a memorable year for Formula One racing, not least for Lewis Hamilton’s maiden drivers’ crown and the most exciting climax to a world championship in years. As 2008 draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your support over the past season and wish our users the very best for the holiday period.

Needless to say the first month of 2009 already looks set to be a busy one as the teams gear up for the opening round of the new season in Australia. Already several have confirmed plans to launch their new cars in January, with features including slick tyres, reduced aerodynamics and KERS, in line with the revised ’09 regulations.

Toyota will kick off proceedings with an online launch for their TF109 on January 15. The following day McLaren will unveil the MP4-24 at their Woking base in the UK. Renault and Williams have chosen the new Algarve Motor Park in southern Portugal to roll out their R29 and FW31 machines on January 19, a day before BMW Sauber debut the F1.09 at Spain’s Jerez circuit.

There will also be plenty of testing activity following the mid-winter break, with most teams expected to track debut their 2009 machines in mid to late January.

We will, as always, be keeping you informed of all the developments from the world of Formula One racing, so stay in touch with Formula1.com in the countdown to Melbourne on March 29 for the latest updates.

In the meantime, have a great holiday season and a very happy New Year!
