BMW Sauber enjoyed a productive second day of testing at Valencia on Wednesday, as the team continued their exclusive session at the Spanish circuit. Despite a wet track, both Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica completed a full race simulation in the morning.

The simulation was a comprehensive one, adhering to the official time schedule, and included the pre-race procedures and pit stops that would be carried out at an actual Grand Prix. Both F1.08 cars completed the race distance without problem.

In the afternoon, on a then dry track, the team continued to work on the set-up of the car. Although ever changing air and track temperatures affected the test work, both drivers again collected valuable data on aerodynamic and mechanical aspects of the new machine.

Kubica’s fastest time of the day was a 1m 12.893s (121 laps), while Heidfeld clocked a best of 1m 13.542s (136 laps). The pair will continue on Thursday, along with new tester Christian Klien, who makes his debut for the German-Swiss team.
