Domenicali: Ferrari must remain vigilant 16 Apr 2008
Although Ferrari have enjoyed two consecutive wins in Malaysia and Bahrain, team principal Stefano Domenicali believes the team must remain focused on improving the F2008s performance and reliability if they are to challenge for another victory at the forthcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
The Italian squad, currently hard at work at this weeks multi-team test at Barcelonas Circuit de Catalunya, endured a difficult start to the season with neither Felipe Massa nor Kimi Raikkonen finishing the Australian race. And even though Raikkonens win at Sepang and Massas in Sakhir have since bolstered Ferrarris championship challenge, Domenicali is keen to guard against complacency.
We have to be aware, the Italian told Ferraris official website. We're approaching the Spanish Grand Prix with a maximum effort, keeping our feet on the ground: we were not depressed after the first race and we are not euphoric after Bahrain. We need absolute motivation and we are aware of the fact that our competitors are getting better.
We need the best Ferrari with the best drivers, the best engineers and the best mechanics to fight them on the track.
With three rounds of the season complete, Ferrari trail standing leaders BMW Sauber by one point, 29 to 30.
