Welcome to qualifying day for the fifth round of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park.

There has been a change in the forecast since Friday. Following the brief rain shower at lunchtime then, there is now the possibility of a repeat on Saturday even though the ambient temperature is due to rise to 18 degrees Celsius. Sunday will be partly cloudy with a high of 19, but should be dry.

The 5.338 kilometre (3.317 mile) track is largely unchanged and the race will run over 58 laps or 309.396 kilometres (192.258 miles). It starts at 1500 hours local time, which is three hours ahead of GMT.
