Welcome to race day for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the ninth round of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship and, effectively, the midpoint.

The skies above Silverstone were dark and overcast first thing Sunday, and the forecast remains for unpredictable weather with frequent heavy rain showers and an ambient temperature high between 17 and 18 degrees Celsius.

The race will run over 60 laps of the 5.141 kilometres (3.194 mile) circuit, or 308.355 kilometres (191.604 miles), and starts at 1300 hours local time, 1200 GMT.
