Bourdais penalised for blocking Heidfeld 02 Aug 2008
Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Bourdais has been demoted five places on the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix after stewards decided he blocked BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld during qualifying on Saturday.
Heidfeld was in the latter stages of a flying lap near the close of Q1 when he came upon Bourdais travelling more slowly. The German, who subsequently failed to make it through to Q2, complained that the Frenchman had hindered his progress.
Bourdais, who did manage to get through to Q2, had been set to start the race from 14th. As a result of the penalty he will now drop to P19 on the Budapest grid. Heidfeld, meanwhile, moves up one place to 15th.
