Fantuzzi named as Toro Rosso's new team manager 05 Jan 2009
Following the departure of Massimo Rivola, Toro Rosso have announced that Gianfranco Fantuzzi will take over as team manager ahead of the 2009 season.
Fantuzzi began his career with Ferrari back in the 1970s, eventually working as a race engineer, before joining Minardi. Following a spell in charge of logistics at Toyota, the Italian joined Toro Rosso as general manager in 2006.
Last season, the team finished sixth in the championship after scoring 39 points and enjoying their first-ever race victory. In November Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz announced plans to buy back Gerhard Bergers 50 percent stake in Toro Rosso, thereby returning full control of the team to the energy drinks giant.
