Rain stops play in Portugal - updated
The poor weather continued at Portugals Algarve Motor Park on Thursday, with heavy rain forcing Formula One testing to be red-flagged midway through the morning session.
Williams, Toro Rosso and Toyota did manage to get in some early wet-weather running at the Portimao circuit, but conditions then deteriorated and, with visibility too poor for the medical helicopter to fly, testing was suspended.
Despite the teams waiting patiently, the rain refused to ease off and they eventually decided to call an early halt to their programmes, with the session - the last of the week - abandoned at 1600 hours local time.
