Romanian stop for Renault Roadshow 08 Oct 2009
Bucharest is the latest port of call this weekend for Renaults Roadshow programme, which aims to bring Formula One racing closer to the public. The French team will host a two-day event in the Romanian city from Saturday, with Romain Grosjean and third driver Lucas di Grassi both set to put in appearances.
I'm really excited about this Roadshow and looking forward to entertaining the fans with lots of donuts and burnouts, said Grosjean. These events are all about bringing the fans close to the cars so they can see things that are not possible at a Grand Prix so I hope that lots of fans will come and watch the show."
The Frenchman and Di Grassi will get behind the wheel of last years Renault R28, driving down a specially created 600-metre circuit along Bucharests famous Libertatii Boulevard. On Friday Brazilian driver Di Grassi will also stop off in the industrial city of Pitesi, in the heart of Romanias Arges County, and complete a shorter preview demonstration.
"I always enjoy Renault's Roadshows and the plans for this weekend sound great, added Di Grassi. It's always special to drive an F1 car on the streets of a city because you are so close to the public and it creates a very special atmosphere in the city."
