Rosberg confirms Williams departure 29 Oct 2009
This Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be Nico Rosberg’s final Formula One outing for Williams, the German driver revealed on Thursday. Rosberg has been with the team since he made his F1 debut with them in 2006.
"It is my last race for Williams,” the 24 year-old told reporters at the all-new Yas Marina Circuit, though he declined to expand on his plans for the 2010 season.
Rosberg has been tipped as a potential world champion ever since winning the inaugural GP2 series in 2005. Since then he has consistently outperformed his machinery, clinching one podium finish and scoring almost three-quarters of Williams’ points over the past four seasons.
