Senna to make F1 debut with Campos Meta in 2010 31 Oct 2009
The name Senna will be back on the Formula One grid next season when Bruno Senna, nephew of the late three-time champion Ayrton, makes his Grand Prix debut with new team Campos Meta.
"For Campos Meta it is an extraordinary honour to return the name of Senna to Formula One," Campos Meta CEO Enrique Rodriguez de Castro said in a statement on Saturday.
"I'd like to thank God, my family, friends and all of my supporters! was Sennas comment on his official Twitter page after the deal with the Spanish team was confirmed.
Senna last raced open-wheeled single seaters in GP2 in 2008, when he finished as series runner-up after two wins and a string of podiums. This season the Brazilian has focussed on sportscar competition after missing out on an F1 drive with Brawn at the start of the year.
