Singapore gearing up for first F1 ROCKS event 11 Sep 2009
This time last year Singapore was preparing to host the first-ever Formula One night race. Twelve months on and the city is gearing up for another first - the inaugural F1 ROCKS event, which sees the worlds top music acts team up with the globes premier motor racing series.
Among those on the star-studded bill for three nights of concerts during next weekends Singapore Grand Prix meeting are Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, DJ Havana Brown and Jacky Cheung, as well as the recently-reformed No Doubt, fronted by Gwen Stefani.
The California-based band will be playing their first live show outside of the US in over seven years, when they join ZZ Top, Simple Minds and N*E*R*D on the second night at Fort Canning Park. Back on the road following a four-year break, No Doubt seemingly cant wait to return to the city state of Singapore.
Playing in South East Asia has always been a great experience for us, said bassist Tony Kanal. So when the opportunity to be a part of the F1 ROCKS Singapore event came up, we knew it was time for us to return. This has already been an incredible year of touring for our band and were excited to keep it going by reconnecting with our amazing fans in Singapore.
Tickets for F1 ROCKS Singapore with LG can be purchased via www.f1rocks.com, with a limited number of multi-night passes currently available. There is also the chance to win a pair of VIP passes, complete with return flights to Singapore and three nights accommodation.
