Engine changes for Massa and Alonso 14 Mar 2010
Ferrari are changing the engines on both Felipe Massas and Fernando Alonsos F10s ahead of Sundays Bahrain Grand Prix. The Italian team found slight abnormalities in readings from Massas V8 on Saturday night and after discovering similar issues with Alonsos have decided to replace both as a precautionary measure.
Although there are restrictions on engine use in the FIAs regulations, all drivers have eight units at their disposal over a season before any penalties are incurred. So neither the Brazilian nor the Spaniard will suffer as a result of Ferraris decision.
After a successful qualifying session on Saturday, Massa will start the Sakhir race from second on the grid, just ahead of team mate Alonso.
