Kubica to take Renault Roadshow home to Poland 15 Jun 2010
Poland will become the latest stop for the Renaults Roadshow event when national hero - and Renault driver - Robert Kubica visits the Poznan circuit for a special exhibition of his Formula One car on 17 July.
The event will be Kubicas first opportunity to put an F1 machine through its paces in his home country and will be a rare opportunity for Polish fans to experience the thrill of a Formula One car being driven at speed. Entry to the event will be free, to allow as many people as possible to attend.
The chance to drive an F1 car in my home country is something that I've always wanted to do, so I have to say a big 'thank you to Renault for making it possible, said Kubica. Poland doesn't have its own Grand Prix, so this is the next best thing and I'm really looking forward to going home and seeing all the Polish fans. It will be the first chance for a lot of them to see an F1 car up close and I will try my best to show them how amazing these cars are."
Kubica will drive last years R29 and will complete some quick laps of the 4.1-kilometre circuit, which is situated in western Poland. Fans can also expect to see the traditional donuts and burnouts when the Grand Prix winner lights up the tyres to unleash all 700 horsepower from the Renaults V8 engine.
Renault last visited Poland for a street demonstration in the capital Warsaw in 2007. In recent years, the French teams Roadshow has travelled to Moscow, Rome, Mexico City and Johannesburg.
