Renault to provide Formula One taster to Korea 16 Sep 2010
Renault are to whet Koreas Formula One appetite when they take their Roadshow to the streets of Seoul in the run-up to the Asian countrys inaugural F1 race. The demonstration even will take place on October 2-3, just three weeks before the Korean Grand Prix on October 22-24.
The event will give Korean fans a taste of the unique sights and sounds of Formula One racing, on a specially constructed temporary circuit within the capital city. The star of the show will be the Renault R29, which will be driven by the team's third driver Ho-Pin Tung.
"Every time we race in a new country, we are provided with an exciting opportunity to reach out to a new public and to win new fans, by introducing them to the thrill of Formula One, said team principal Eric Boullier.
When it comes to the Korean Grand Prix, it makes sense that the Renault F1 Team should spearhead the sport's arrival in South Korea. Renault has strong links to the country and we are proud to be giving the residents of Seoul their first experience of F1, at the beginning of a landmark month for motorsport in South Korea."
The Seoul event will be held in partnership with Renault Samsung Motors and the organisers of the Korean Grand Prix, South Jeolla Provincial Government and Korean Auto Valley Operation. Renaults Roadshow has already wowed fans in Russia, Poland and Spain this year.
