De la Rosa to join Pirelli development programme 23 Sep 2010
Although he has only just lost his BMW Sauber race seat to Nick Heidfeld, it looks like Pedro de la Rosa wont be sitting on the bench for very long. Pirelli revealed on Thursday that De la Rosa will be back in action over the coming weeks, as part of their Formula One tyre development programme.
The Italian company will become the sports sole tyre supplier from next season and has been carrying out test runs over the last few weeks ahead of their return. Pirelli Tyre CEO, Francesco Gori, confirmed De la Rosas appointment during a press conference at the Turkish factory where they will manufacture their Formula One tyres.
Heidfeld himself carried out three two-day tests for Pirelli before his return to racing with BMW Sauber at this weekends Singapore Grand Prix. Former Renault driver Romain Grosjean has been in action for the tyre manufacturer this week in Monza, and is expected to continue development work alongside De la Rosa.
