Glock set to miss final test after appendix operation 01 Mar 2011
Virgins Timo Glock is expected to miss next weeks final pre-season test at Barcelonas Circuit de Catalunya after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix on Monday. Glock is currently recovering in a hospital in Switzerland following the routine operation.
I can confirm that Timo had an operation yesterday to remove his appendix after a sudden case of appendicitis, explained Virgin team principal John Booth. The procedure was routine and Timo is recovering well in a Swiss hospital where he is likely to remain for a further 24 hours. To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next weeks test in Barcelona. We look forward to having Timo back with us very soon.
If Glock is forced to sit out the test, team mate Jerome dAmbrosio will run for the entire four-day session. Virgin plan to make a final decision early next week.
