Official F1™ 2011 Live Timing and Track Positioning App launches 10 Mar 2011

The timing app displays real-time track positions and timing data direct from the race track to the palm of your hand. For greater control we have introduced selectable corner numbers so you can change the camera to that corner. Selecting a driver switches the camera to follow that selected driver around the race track. Pause and replay live sessions during the event. Download race packs after the event to watch again and again. Multiple timing views display all the data streamed from the race track. Race view combines live timing data with fully Interactive 3D track maps, displaying timing data and driver positions all in one view.

Soft Pauer, maker of the official F1™ 2011 Timing and Track Positioning App, has launched its new and improved app on the iTunes App Store, with the Android Market to follow shortly. Already award winning and five-star rated by iTunes in 2010, the 2011 app promises to bring even more excitement, content and choice to the user, with a variety of brand new features.

The F1™ 2011 Live Timing and Track Positioning App offers users over 130 hours of racing action, brought direct and in perpetuity from the track straight to the handheld device as it unfolds. Real-time track positions and data stream directly to the phone, with a fully interactive 3D map giving a view of the entire circuit, complete with driver positions, gaps and pit stops. Importantly, wireless is not needed to enjoy the app, which also runs on GPRS, so can be viewed anywhere.

Zoom in to follow a specific driver or out to get a view of the entire lap; split the screen to see the timing screens alongside the on-map action, or follow the live leader board as the race unfolds; plus follow live text commentary (in English, French and German) or review the action again and again.

For the first time, pause has now been enabled during live sessions allowing the user to quickly replay the action. More timing data has been added and the live timing screens and leader boards have been revised to make the data even more accessible. Corner numbers and names have been added to the map view and 3D track navigation means that the map can now be panned easily so that you can position the track exactly where you want it. There’s also much more information at your fingertips thanks to a redesigned info base. Finally, the app has been optimised so that it runs even faster than before.

Commenting on the 2011 app, Soft Pauer COO Alex Powell said: “We’re very happy to announce these exciting new features in 2011. They will give a new depth to our service and make the insights we offer more accessible than ever to Formula One fans around the world.”

The App is now on sale via the iTunes App store for £19.99 for the season. Visit www.softpauer.com for further information.
