Hublot presents the F1 King Power Tourbillon 04 Apr 2011
Luxury Swiss brand Hublot, the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1, used the recent Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Fair to present the first Tourbillon watch developed with and for the world of Formula One.
Limited to just 100 pieces, 50 in gold and 50 in zirconium, the F1 King Power Tourbillon is equipped with the Tourbillon chronograph movement HUB7300. This counters the effects of gravity when the timepiece is rotated by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a special rotating cage, visible in the lower half of the watch face.
The F1 King Power Tourbillon, 48 mm in diameter, also features a five-day power reserve and the familiar circular satin 'brake disc' ceramic ring on the bezel, an acclaimed original feature of the F1 King Power, which was first introduced in 2010.
The watch is water resistant to 10 bar (100 metres), while its strap is made from stitched rubber and Nomex®, a synthetic fibre developed by Dupont De Nemours and used in the manufacture of F1 drivers overalls due to of its very low combustibility.
The F1 King Power Tourbillon is the latest in the phenomenally successful F1 King Power series, which was launched shortly after Hublots appointment as Formula Ones official watchmaker last year.
