Drivers sign up for StarCards charity auction 13 Jul 2011
A collection of playing cards signed by the grids 24 Formula One drivers is currently being auctioned online to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The signatures were gathered by F1 photographer Mark Sutton of Sutton Motorsport Images, who have supported the StarCards F1 project since 2004.
As well as individually framed and mounted collections for all of the current drivers, there are other famous faces from the Formula One fraternity represented in the auction, including Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Stirling Moss and Jacques Villeneuve. Each collection includes a signed playing card and a Sutton photograph.
We are delighted with the support of Sutton Images and to be connected with Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity, we hope that as a result of our involvement it will be possible for children of all nations to get the help they need, said Paul Brett of Star Cards. Every penny we raise goes directly to the charity to spend on the most vital medical equipment, research facilities or toward the £50 million required every year to help keep the magic alive.
