Perez to test Ferrari's 2009 car in September 13 Jul 2011
Sauber driver Sergio Perez, who is also a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA), is to get the chance to test the Italian teams 2009 car. Perez will be in action alongside fellow FDA recruit Jules Bianchi in September.
We will be back on track in September, at Mugello or Fiorano, Luca Baldisserri, director of the FDA, explained in an interview with Ferraris official website. It will be a very interesting test, because we will be putting Bianchi and Perez up against one another. I think they will both be very motivated and for us it will be the perfect opportunity to assess both drivers.
Perez is midway through his debut season of Formula One racing with Sauber. The Mexican has scored eight world championship points in his Ferrari-engined C30, but missed the Monaco and Canadian rounds after a heavy accident during qualifying in Monte Carlo. His seventh-place finish at last weekends British event is his best result to date.
