Red Bull to speed down Delhis Rajpath 29 Sep 2011
Just days after McLarens Lewis Hamilton brought Bangalore to a standstill, Red Bull have announced they too will take to the streets in India for a demonstration run ahead of the countrys inaugural Grand Prix next month. Never content to be low key, Red Bulls event will take place on Delhis famous Rajpath on Saturday.
The teams protege - and current HRT driver - Daniel Ricciardo will be behind the wheel on the one-kilometre stretch. Regarded as one of Indias most important roads, the Rajpath is a ceremonial boulevard running from Rashtrapati Bhavan through the India Gate to the National Stadium and annually hosts the countrys Republic Day parade.
As well as seeing Ricciardo in action, fans will be treated to performances by some of India's leading motorsport talents in freestyle biking as well as four-wheel drifting. The Indian finals of the Red Bull Racing Can will also be held with regional winners battling it out to determine the fastest can on a remote controlled chassis as they fight to clinch a place in the global finals.
Saturdays Rajpath demonstration isnt the first time Red Bull have graced Indian soil. Back in 2009 former driver David Coulthard blasted his way across the Bandra-Worli Sea Link bridge in Mumbai.
