Ferrari confirm February 3 launch for new car 11 Jan 2012
Ferraris 2012 car will make its public debut early next month, the Italian team have confirmed. The new machine, the name of which has yet to be revealed, will be presented to the media at the Fiorano circuit near Maranello on February 3.
Its predecessor, the 150° Italia, brought Ferrari relatively limited success in 2011, scoring just a single Grand Prix win in the hands of Fernando Alonso and powering the team to a distant third in the constructors standings, well behind rivals Red Bull and McLaren.
The new Ferrari, which will be raced by the unchanged driver line-up of Alonso and Felipe Massa, is expected to be given an initial shakedown shortly following launch, before making its full test debut at the first pre-season, multi-team session at Jerez in Spain on February 7-10.
