Pic set for engine-change penalty 12 Oct 2012
Marussias Charles Pic will become the first driver in 2012 to pick up an engine-change penalty this weekend when he drops 10 places on the grid for Sundays Korean Grand Prix.
Drivers are allowed to use eight engines over the course of a season, but Marussia are to install Pics ninth Cosworth V8 of the year ahead of Saturdays final practice session at Yeongam.
We plan to fit a new engine to Charles car this evening in the knowledge that, as his ninth engine of the season, we will incur a 10-place grid penalty on Sunday, team principal John Booth confirmed on Friday.
Frenchman Pic finished 21st in Fridays second practice session, half a second down on 20th-placed team mate Timo Glock.
