Former world champion Jacques Villeneuve was behind the wheel of a Ferrari 312 T4 on Tuesday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of his father, Gilles. Villeneuve was in action in the Ferrari at the Italian team’s Fiorano test track.

Gilles Villeneuve died on May 8, 1982, after crashing during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder. The Canadian drove the 312 T4 during the 1979 season and won three of his six Grands Prix victories behind its wheel.

Ferrari’s 2012 line-up, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, president Luca di Montezemolo, vice president Piero Ferrari, managing director Amadeo Felisa and former technical director Mauro Forghieri were all in attendance to watch the 1997 title holder take to the track in his father's car.
