Race control messages added to F1™ 2012 Timing App 13 Jun 2012
As the 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship heads back to Europe, the official F1 Timing and Track Positioning App from Soft Pauer has just got even better, with live race director, race steward and marshal messages now launched.
Whether using the App to enhance your TV viewing experience or as a stand-alone way to follow the action, it is the only way to see every single message transmitted from the race director and race stewards to the teams as they are issued, as well as all the flags from the marshals as they are communicated to race control.
For the first time, the App also visually displays the messages on the 3D maps, meaning that the level of detail is second to none: areas of track are highlighted to show the exact source of flags for example, while driver icons flash to show who is involved in investigations, with accompanying text to explain why. This is the first time all these messages have been decoded and represented in such comprehensive detail, so thanks to this unique level of access, F1 fans will be better informed than ever before.
See flags visually displayed on the map sectors as they are issued, follow investigations as they are launched and understand the circuit conditions.Live and constantly updated, both on the interactive 3D maps and via banner messages, this exciting new feature is exclusive to the F1 Timing and Track Positioning App, making it the perfect tool for any F1 enthusiast.
Speaking about this exciting new addition to the App, Soft Pauers technical director Alex Powell said: We are delighted to be able to offer fans this new and innovative update. By visually displaying all the marshal and race control messages in such a comprehensive and clear way, we have been able to bring yet another element of the sport to life for our users.
Other features include fully interactive 3D maps, live tyre updates, DRS zone indicators, official F1 news, calendars, countdown clocks, live timing screens, driver positioning and more. The official F1 Timing and Track Positioning App is available for Apple, Android and BlackBerry devices, including BlackBerry PlayBook.
