Unwell Glock to miss qualifying in Valencia 23 Jun 2012
Marussia have announced driver Timo Glock will miss Saturdays qualifying session for this weekends European round in Valencia for health reasons. Glock has been struck down with a stomach complaint for the last few days and has been advised to rest.
Timo has been fighting a stomach bug since Thursday, the team said in a statement. He felt well enough to take part in yesterdays Free Practice sessions and had seemed to be improving. This morning, after Practice Three, he started to feel unwell again.
"It is clear that at this time, he is not sufficiently well to take part in a demanding qualifying session and needs to recuperate further.
Marussia and Glock plan to seek further medical guidance this afternoon. They are yet to reach a decision over whether the German will race and will release a further statement on Sunday morning.
