Van der Garde set to wow Rotterdam in August 03 Jul 2012
Reserve driver Giedo van der Garde will demonstrate a Caterham in front of his home crowd in Rotterdam as part of the annual City Racing event. Mercedes have already confirmed the participation of their driver Nico Rosberg at the motorsport spectacular, which will take place on August 26.
For years I have been following City Racing Rotterdam and Im delighted that the organization has invited Caterham F1 Team and I to take part, said Van der Garde. I will make sure that the huge crowd will not be short of excitement! Last weekend I took part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England and I am looking forward to showing all the fans the Caterham F1 Team car and we will make sure we put on a spectacular show.
City Racing co-organiser Herman Vaanholt added: We are happy to add Giedo and his team to our line-up. He is joining a list of Dutch drivers who have taken part in our previous events including Christijan Albers, Robert Doornbos, Ho-Pin Tung and Jos Verstappen. We are proud that yet again a Dutch driver will be driving a Formula One car at a City Racing event.
It will be the eighth time Rotterdam has hosted the demonstration, which allows Dutch fans to get up close to Formula One cars and a host of other international racing machinery. Among last years star turns were Mercedes third driver Sam Bird and Ferrari tester Marc Gene.
