Nick Heidfeld enjoyed a stunning 2007 season with BMW Sauber - podiums in Canada and Hungary, 61 championship points and fifth in the final standings, beaten only by the men from Ferrari and McLaren.
But what is Heidfelds life like when he is not behind the wheel? We caught up with the German to discover a little of what goes on outside of his BMW cockpit
Q: What's in your garage at home?
Nick Heidfeld: A BMW X5, a BMW 5er Touring 4WD, a Mini Cooper S, a Lotus Exige, a 1967 Beetle Cabriolet, a BMW Enduro motorbike, a Harley Davidson and some racing and mountain bikes.
Q: Your favourite song for karaoke?
NH: Famous songs by the Beatles like Yellow Submarine. Everybody knows them - so you dont have to sing alone.
Q: What's the most unusual request you've had from a fan?
NH: I have had several requests from fans to sign their cars.
Q: Funniest thing you've read about yourself in the press?
NH: Not so long ago there was a story published in Poland that I allegedly had a fist fight with Sebastian (Vettel). Nelson Piquet was said to be the source and Alain Prost was described as a witness.
Q: Tell us something we don't know about you?
NH: That I wont answer this question.
Q: When you're at home, what do you listen to when driving?
NH: Usually I just zap through the radio stations, mainly listening to pop and chart songs.
Q: Best part of being a Formula One driver - apart from the driving?
NH: Travelling and having new challenges all the time.
Q: Your most prized possession?
NH: My cars.
Q: What would you be if you werent a racing driver?
NH: Even if I wasnt involved in Formula One I would still race - either cars or motorbikes.
Q: Do you have any bad habits?
NH: When I get drunk I smoke.
