McLaren MP4-28 - rear suspension 17 March 2013

As a result of 2013's technical stability, a lot of research and time has been spent on the finer details, with brake ducts and suspension parts being used more and more as aerodynamic devices. In this drawing we can see how McLaren have used the first section of the top pick-up point to the upright on the MP4-28's rear suspension to place a plate with wing section (red arrow) in an effort to increase downforce. You can also see that the brake duct now features a lot of small profiles. In addition, McLaren have followed the 2013 trend of including the driveshaft in a long chord plane between the toe link and rear arm of the lower wishbone.
