Red Bull RB9 - Monza-spec front wing 08 September 2013

On Friday afternoon in Italy, Red Bull tried a Monza-specification front wing on Sebastian Vettel's car, whilst Mark Webber used the Spa-specification one, albeit with the top flap partially cut. The Monza-spec wing had no upper flap attached to the endplate, so it's possible to see the complex number of slots. Removing the upper flap reduces drag, especially when following another car, and also allowed the team to use a longer seventh gear. From Friday to Saturday, Red Bull improved their top speed from 328 to 335 km/h using the new wing.
