Missed opportunities - exclusive Christian Horner interview

It should have been a Red Bull day. All indications pointed to Sebastian Vettel becoming the first winner of the 2010 season in Bahrain, but a minor electrical fault destroyed all hope for the Austrian team and their supposed champion-in-waiting.

At least team principal Christian Horner could head home safe in the knowledge that Red Bull have the potential to dominate, whereas many others departed Sakhir knowing they...

Cosworth satisfied after Grand Prix return

Cosworth are feeling well-satisfied after Rubens Barrichello clinched a world championship point at the Bahrain Grand Prix in his Cosworth-powered Williams. The engine supplier, which has returned to Formula One racing this season after a three-year absence, provided V8s to four teams in action at Sakhir - Williams, Lotus, Virgin and HRT.

“After the many months of work developing and implementing our return as an engine supplier to Formula One it was good to finally get the racing underway,” said Mark Gallagher, general manager of the company's F1 Business Unit. “It was satisfying to see all four of our teams in action. From an engine performance point of view, I think we can be very satisfied with the performance of the CA2010 in Bahrain.

Q&A with Williams' Sam Michael

Thanks to the new points system, Rubens Barrichello's tenth-place finish in Bahrain meant the Williams FW32 scored on its Grand Prix debut. However, after a fraught weekend in Sakhir, technical director Sam Michael believes there is plenty more to come from the car - and from Barrichello's rookie team mate Nico Hulkenberg…

Bahrain debrief with Renault's James Allison

Things didn't go exactly to plan for Renault in Bahrain on Sunday. After qualifying a highly credible ninth, Robert Kubica dropped to the back of the order on lap one when he was hit by another car, before recovering to 11th, while rookie team mate Vitaly Petrov was forced to retire mid race with suspension problems. Luck may not have been on their side, but Renault technical director James Allison insists the R30 met their performance expectations…

Sebastian Vettel Q&A: It should have been Red Bull's day

It's no secret that Sebastian Vettel hates losing - especially when he knows he should have won. In Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix, his Red Bull started from pole and looked to be not just the quickest car, but also a very tyre-friendly one on an excellent race strategy. That was until technical gremlins intervened. Vettel can only hope it was a one-off and for the German, his season now starts in Melbourne…

Bahrain race analysis - Ferrari off to a flier

After spending two seasons in relatively uncompetitive machinery, there was a mix of relief and elation on Fernando Alonso's face following his debut win with Ferrari on Sunday, having displayed the skills that made him a double world champion.

Team mate Felipe Massa, in his first Grand Prix since life-threatening injury last July, wasn't complaining either as he ensured a one-two for the Scuderia, who left McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes firmly in the shade…

Lotus thrilled after double finish at Sakhir

Whilst fellow new teams HRT and Virgin fell by the wayside during the Bahrain Grand Prix, Lotus will leave Sakhir on Sunday with their heads held high after both Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli recorded race finishes on the team's Formula One debut.

“I'm completely over the moon!” said Lotus team principal Tony Fernandes. “I cannot describe the feeling. Six months of work and to have both cars finish is just unbelievable. We're thrilled, we're happy and the spirit in the team is fantastic. I'm really proud of Jarno and of Heikki and everyone here.

Alonso and Ferrari romp to victory in Bahrain

Fernando Alonso drove a superbly judged race to emulate Nigel Mansell and Kimi Raikkonen, as he sped to victory on his debut for Ferrari in Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Alonso chased Sebastian Vettel's fleet Red Bull fruitlessly in the early stages, when both were running the super-soft Bridgestone tyres, but had an advantage after they had respectively switched to the harder compound...
