Struggles to reach heights of race-winning Williams team mate Maldonado thanks to tyre troubles during qualifying, but is a more consistent point-scorer than the Venezuelan. Ends the season 14 points back from Maldonado and is dropped by Williams for 2013.

Returns Senna name to the F1 grid, albeit with the slowest team in the field. Performs well against his only real benchmark, his various HRT team mates. Best result a 14th in Korea, but also records nine DNFs.

After missing out on an F1 drive, competes in the Le Mans Series, including the famous 24-hour race, with Oreca. Signs to race for new HRT F1 team in 2010.

Enjoys an impressive second GP2 season, taking two victories and finishing runner-up to champion Giorgio Pantano. Makes his Formula One test debut for Honda over the winter.
