Team takes on name of major shareholders and Russian sportscar makers Marussia. Charles Pic and Timo Glock fail to lift team from back of the field, although 12th for Glock in Singapore lifts team over rivals Caterham. Eventually overhauled at the final race of the season in Brazil.

Struggle for pace. Abandon digital-only design approach and forge new technical partnership with McLaren Applied Technologies. Glock re-signs with team for 2012 and beyond. Last in final standings with highest finish of 14th in Australia and Canada.

2010

After lower formulae success, Manor Motorsport join F1 as Virgin, with digitally designed car. Early pace and reliability poor, plus chassis overhaul needed due to undersized fuel tank. Performance then improves, but still finish last overall.
