Score their first world championship points with Jules Bianchi's ninth place in Monaco, but tragedy strikes when the Frenchman is seriously injured in the Japanese Grand Prix. Subsequently miss the final three rounds of the season due to financial problems.

Newly-equipped with KERS, make promising start to season, outperforming familiar rivals Caterham, thanks in part to heroics of rookie driver Bianchi. Points remain elusive, but P13 in Malaysia ultimately enough to clinch team their first top-ten constructors' championship finish.

Take on name of major shareholders and Russian sportscar makers Marussia. Pic and Glock unable to lift team from back of the field, although 12th for Glock in Singapore puts them above rivals Caterham. Eventually overhauled at the final race of the season in Brazil.

After lower formulae success, Manor Motorsport join F1 as Virgin, with digitally designed car. Early pace and reliability poor, plus chassis overhaul needed due to undersized fuel tank. Performance then improves, but still finish last overall.
