Williams FW35 - 'monkey seat' evolution 27 May 2013

Unusually, two teams arrived in Monaco with near identical design evolutions - and ones never seen before on other teams' cars. On both Williams' FW35 and Ferrari's F138, the 'monkey seat' in the lower part of the rear wing now has a flap with a slot in the endplates, very similar to the slots Renault used to have in their main rear wing endplates. In Williams' case the monkey seat is combined with the high-downforce rear wing used at the last round in Spain, in a bid to gain even more downforce for the low-speed Monte Carlo street circuit.
